Metalogix Releases EMC-Certified Storage Adapters that Tightly Integrate EMC Storage with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2007
Metalogix StoragePoint is Certified for Use with EMC
WALTHAM, Mass., May 11, 2010 – Metalogix Software, the leading provider of solutions for Microsoft® SharePoint® migration, BLOB management and archiving, today announced the release of their EMC®-certified Centera® Storage Adapter for its StoragePoint product.
Winner of Microsoft’s® SharePoint® 2010 Innovation award, Metalogix StoragePoint enables organizations to keep unstructured content, also known as Binary Large Objects (BLOBs), out of Microsoft SharePoint Server content databases and stores them on EMC Centera. The combined Centera/StoragePoint solution enables organizations that must comply with strict government and industry content storage regulations to take full advantage of their SharePoint investment. Installed and configured in minutes, StoragePoint also improves SharePoint performance, scalability, manageability and security without sacrificing functionality or affecting user productivity.
“Our customers have been looking for an out-of-the-box solution to easily connect EMC Centera storage to their SharePoint environments that’s simple to administer and doesn’t impact system performance or functionality,” said Mark McLaughlin, EMC Director of ISV Alliances and Business Development. “With EMC Centera and StoragePoint, customers can depend on safely storing and managing all of their content to unprecedented levels with an integrated, highly-scalable and cost-effective SharePoint storage solution.”
“Our certified EMC Centera adapter further extends our integration with the rest of EMC’s storage platforms,” said Chris Risley, Metalogix CEO. “With StoragePoint, customers can utilize multiple levels or tiers of EMC Storage, with virtually any mix of Centera, Atmos, or Celerra products leveraging the most appropriate storage based on their particular performance, compliance or budgetary requirements. StoragePoint’s integration with the full line of EMC storage products also enables customers to leverage StoragePoint’s Archiving and Hierarchical Storage Management capabilities that automatically move SharePoint content to various EMC platforms based on its age, version or even changes in metadata.”
StoragePoint software reduces the size of SharePoint content databases 90 percent or more by keeping Content (BLOBs) out of the database while retaining only the metadata and BLOB reference in SQL Server. Compressed, encrypted or both, the content is stored onto virtually any EMC storage platform. StoragePoint adapters for EMC storage platforms are available through Metalogix.
