Comments
Any HTTP accessible content source
Website Migration Manager can import content from any HTTP accessible location, and will import content depending on how the crawler options are set.

MCMS Systems
MCMS postings and resources can be imported and migrated when using Website Migration Manager. In order for this to be possible WMM must be installed on the same machine as the MCMS server.
back to table
Visual HTML content based analysis and extraction
Using the tools within Website Migration Manager, it is possible to select and isolate any visual content within a HTML page. This gives a greater flexibility in selection of content, that can be used during a migration. .
back to table
A completely searchable and filterable List View
In WMM's List View you can do searches and filters for any content that you want. You can filter any column property in or out, do a search for a word, a phrase, a file name, or a file type. Any content can be found using the search and filter tools, from one item to a group of items.

A completely extensible actions framework
Aside from the out-of-box set of Actions, the WMM actions framework allows for custom actions (see Custom Action integration) to be added. There is no limit for the number of custom actions that can be added to the framework, giving the application a greater flexibility.

Import and Export of CSV files for editing purposes
CSV files can be imported or exported for the purposes of editing, or adding content to a migration. A typical use, would be to export some content to a CSV file, send it to it's department and let that department make any necessary changes, and then import it back into the workspace with the updated material.
back to table
Comprehensive logging of all migrations
Log files are created and stored for all migrations. These files give a breakdown of all actions that took place during a migration.
back to table
Command line execution
Command Line execution is possible with WMM. Whether the options are selected in the UI or through the command line, the running of the actual migration can be done through the command line. This allows for the migrations to be done "in batch" by being scheduled.
back to table
Automated hyperlink correction for migrated web content
Allows for automatic update and correction of hyperlinks within migrated web content.
back to table
User Mapping Across Active Directory Domains
Allows for users to be mapped across the Active Directory Domains during a migration. This lets multiple domains to be migrated together, as well as to migrate across to new domains.
back to table
Limited Script crawling (JavaScript, Flash, Active X, VB script)
Certain types of script can be crawled and migrated by WMM. While there are a few different types of Script languages that can be migrated (JavaScript, Active X, Flash, etc.), WMM only supports Client Side Script. Any script that can be interacted with on a page, is not supported.

Metadata
You can copy documents and many types of list items to a target machine that does not have the Metalogix service installed, but the four edit information fields will not be preserved. The four edit information fields are:
Created: The date and time that the list item was created.
Modified: The date and time that the list item was last modified.
Created By: The user who created the list item.
Modified By: The user who last modified the list item.

All interactions with SharePoint are remote
All standard interactions with SharePoint are done remotely, however, if the Metalogix Extension Service is used then some interactions with SharePoint are done through the Object model, which is local through the SharePoint site.
back to table
SharePoint Content Type editor
The SharePoint Content Type editor allows for content types to be created and edited within the workspace and within SharePoint. These content types can then be migrated to a target site.
back to table
Automated SharePoint site hierarchy creation
Creates a base for a SharePoint site hierarchy. This hierarchy can then be built upon, giving a greater range and flexibility to any site creation actions within SharePoint.
back to table
Content editor and Summary links Web parts
Content within Content Editor and Summary link Web parts can be migrated. In order for proper migration these Web parts must be manually installed on the target system/server.
back to table
Custom template support and mapping
Custom templates can be used during the migration. Before beginning your migration, please ensure that your custom template has been manually moved to your target site. Once there you can migrate and map content to the custom template.

Custom Action integration (for customer created actions)
It is possible to create your own custom actions for Website Migration Manager. Any custom actions that are created will be displayed in both the Actions Menu in the toolbar, and in the actions section when using the right-click function. For some sample custom actions, please contact Metalogix.
