We discovered SSMM rather late in our project after it became clear that our original migration plan wasn't sizing up. With a tool like this out there, I don't know why users would consider any other method. This tool facilitates a smooth, systematic migration approach without leaving critical data behind. Logging lets you trace your steps and repeat if needed. As if that is not enough, you get support, support and more support. Friendly, knowledgeable people who really want to team with you to make your project a success. The price of this product, which is very competitive, becomes negligible compared to the man hours we would have expended originally.

In our testing of migration options from WSS 2.0 to MOSS 2007, we found the three options provided "out-of-the-box" from Microsoft to be inadequate for our needs and were facing real challenges. It seemed like the only way we would be able to move from a 32-bit environment to our new 64-bit environment would be an in-place upgrade of Production followed by moving the content databases over. With Metalogix SharePoint Site Migration, we are able to do a gradual upgrade of our team-sites on our schedule, as well as detailed testing of each site beforehand, not to mention the switch to 64-bit, which was an issue without this tool.
